2013 DESTINY AWARD
In the loving memory of Deanna Camille Green
Faith is the ability to trust in the Lord your god and believe without full understanding of the plan that He has for your life, of the direction He has mapped for you, and without knowledge of the trials and tribulations that God has in store. When those trails and tribulations become reality, when the world seems to be crumbling down around your feet, God is there to pick-up the pieces and be your rock in times of need. He will provide comfort and understanding. Psalm 34:18 states, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” There is only the love of God that can truly mend a broken heart and uplift a weary soul. But, I beg of you do not lose faith; do not fall by the wayside for He is still to be glorified.
On May 5, 2006 Deanna Camille Green passed away. He took His angel on to glory. She had accomplished everything that God had destined her to fulfill. For God is divine and all mighty. His plan for her life is not to be questioned, this was her destiny; this was His plan. Deanna had a unique passion for singing, something that kept her going and was progressing exceedingly well each time she opened her mouth. Her singing ability enabled her to be accepted into Carver Center for the Arts & Technology in which she was excited to attend in the fall of 2006. She was surrounded by loving friends and family members, her mother Nancy, father Anthony, and older brother Tony were great supporters of her talents. They gave her the confidence and enthusiasm she needed in order to develop into a magnificent young lady with a love for opera music and a mean softball swing. She was an average teenager. Her love for music expanded beyond Destiny’s Child. With a song always in her heart, Deanna was able to share that with the people around her and that song is what she has left behind for all of us to store in our hearts so that we will never forget her. Her spirit and ever so loving personality still dances through the halls of her school, church, and home. She will never be forgotten, but she will be truly missed. Psalms 30:5 says, “Tears may flow for the night, but joy cometh in the morning,” Deanna, we shall meet again in glory.
